Reading about your craft fair venture was interesting and enlightening; it's disheartening to think of all those non-readers, though. I fervently wish that more authors would try this craft-fair strategy, speaking as both a bibliophile and fan of craft fairs. :-)

It must be a real challenge to develop a readership, and I wish you great success in that regard. I found your books thanks to your free offering of "Murder Half-Baked" on Amazon.com and enjoyed it so much that I just bought the other two in the series. I hope you have more for us from Ellen & Company!

The Holiday Fair was fun in many ways. I got to talk to Kathleen and Linda, plan for our next conference (Cape Fear Crime Festival in February), and meet some nice people. We found a few characters that might appear one of our books. :-)
Whether it was a success probably depends on your definition. We sold some books and had a good time. That's pretty good by my standards.

I enjoyed the time spent with my fellow authors--Kathleen and Ellis--and the opportunity to chat with the people who DID read. Did I make a profit? Probably not, but I view it as an investment. And I sure hope a fraction of those folks who said they read ebooks click on one of the books we offered. By the way, Kathleen's books are excellent!

Hearing that so many people simply do not read is not news but still makes me sad. My life without reading? Simply cannot imagine. Thanks God for writers.

I envy you gals living close enough to do some things together. I often feel stuck here in the country right by myself. Best wishes to all of you!

thanks, Ellis. Niote that you make good use of sidekicks in our new release, Cold Comfort. We wouldn't have a compete story without them.

Sidekicks often make the main character what she (or he) is. I love them and usually have them. They provide contrast, encouragement, and often a reason for the MC to get involved. Aunt Mary is a great sidekick for Ellen McKenzie. Mary enriches the story and adds to Ellen's character. Good job, Kathleen.
